Short-handed Mustang St. Paul's no match for Neptune

Neptune 101 - 66 Mustang Sally's St. Pauls
Game date: 2/13/2008
With Justin Wingard suffering an unfortunate broken foot last week, Killarney were left very short in the middle and were no match for Neptune. This win pushes Neptune into clear third place in the Southern Conference. We're now two wins ahead of Killarney with just 5 games to play, and also hold the tie-breaker after a season sweep, so they need to be a game ahead at the end of the year to take that final playoff spot.

Neptune gradually built a lead from the start and lead by 16 at half time. It turned into a blowout in the third and eventually ran out 35 point victors. Kyle Myrick lead Neptune scorers with 16, but he was only required to play 28 minutes. Matt Gorman had his first sub 20 point game in a long time with 13, but again he played just 28 minutes. Pat Fitzpatrick had 15 in a game-high 34 minutes. Only one Neptune player played less than 10 minutes, and the scoring was distributed through the whole team, with everyone getting on the board.

Matthew Hilleary showed up to play as always and had 20 points, but he got little help from the rest of his team and it was very clear Killarney will have to do add to their roster if they are to try and make a run at the playoffs this season.
